We've had a fun week making a wedding cake for Martha Greengrass and her partner Andy this week. Martha asked us to create a stack of books made out of cake for her book themed wedding. We love our books at Kiss Me Cake so we were very excited about this one and have been planning it for quite a while. This cake was an absolute pleasure to create. Martha provided us with a recipe for a whiskey filled fruit cake, which was absolutely divine! We were given a list of Martha and Andy's favourite books and then we got creative. It was hard work often working long in to the evening and carefully painting the books in edible ink with a steady hand. At Martha's request we decorated the cake board with a crossword design and painted the squares with black food colouring, trying to keep each line straight...which wasn't easy given our soundtrack for the evening was 'Flight of the Concords.'
We were really pleased to learn that Martha and Andy loved their cake and were so pleased that we could be a part of their special day by providing them with a very special cake. Congratulations and Best Wishes to the happy couple xx
